Starling murmuration winter nature walk @ RSPB Otmoor
Come take a glorious winter nature walk at RSPB’s beautiful wetland nature reserve in Otmoor where we should be able to watch the amazing spectacle of a starling murmuration at dusk over the reedbeds. Also can expect to see hares, barn owls, harriers, lots of waterfowl and winter migrants.

This annual walk (resuming again post-Covid) is always greatly enjoyed by EWG members, beginners and wildlife/bird experts alike. Bring warm clothes and sturdy/waterproof boots as it can be quite muddy in places. Binoculars and telescopes are beneficial but don’t worry if you don’t have any, we have spares to share and lots of help for beginner birdwatchers. Parking is limited at the reserve and the drive is about an hour so in the interests of the environment and getting everyone to the reserve which is hard to visit by public transport would appreciate car sharing and anyone driving to offer spare seats in comments please. There are no toilets on site, the nearest are in a pub in Otmoor village before you get to Otmoor Lane. We usually meet in the same pub after the walk for a drink and snack.
