An informal monthly bird walk and survey with members of EWG and West London Birders.
All levels of knowledge are welcome to join on this leisurely walk around the park to record the numbers and species seen. Sometimes there will be a knowledgeable leader, other times it’s a friendly group walk spotting birds in the park.
Bring binoculars if you have them but not necessary.
Meet at the Pitshanger Pantry outdoor cafe in the park.
NB – All under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Come and join our volunteer day! We’ll be working on projects to improve the facilities and habitat of our nature reserve. Regular tasks include path maintenance, brush clearing, gardening and watering. Please bring your wellies and thick gloves if you have them, although we do have some to share.
While there are always things to do onsite you can just visit our oasis of calm in this little natural paradise. We have a bird hide, several ponds and wetlands, a small wood, a wildlife garden, and a sunny deck to sit back and relax with tea. You can spot Foxes, Woodpeckers, Slow Worms, Newts, Frogs, Spiders, Insects, Dragonflies, Butterflies, Red Kites, all manner of pondlife.

Join Sean and all the other early birds for EWGs annual Dawn Chorus walk to experience the wonder of morning birdsong for an early, invigorating and wholesome start to the day.
You’ll learn why birds sing and how to identify the various species as they start singing in predictable order as the day breaks.
Meet at 04:30 (yes, really!) outside The Fox Inn, Green Lane, Hanwell, W7 2PJ. Then we’ll cross the canal into Hanwell Meadows, and down into Long Wood as dawn rises. Finishing on Warren Farm to hear our Skylarks sing.
All are welcome, but we’ll be walking cross country with some navigation of stiles and uneven ground, so sturdy walking boots are recommended. If you have binoculars, bring them, but not necessary.
Beginner nature enthusiasts are very welcome!
