Hanwell Canal and Old Ealing Hospital wildlife walk with Neil Anderson

Starts on 6 July 2024 at 11:00

Ends on 6 July 2024 at 14:00

Events are listed in the following time zone: Europe/London (GMT +01:00)

Join Neil as he takes us on a wildlife safari along the canals and behind the old Ealing Hospital in search of exciting flora and fauna.

We will start and end the walk at The Fox Inn, Green Lane, Hanwell, W7 2PJ.

There will be an opportunity to see waterside and meadow plants, and if the weather plays ball we’ll see these plant’s pollinators and those that prey on them, namely dragonflies. Near the old St. Bernard’s hospital, is a large population of Wild Clary which dates back to apothecary days for its health benefits, as well as other meadow plants like Field Scabious in Trumpers Field. We’re likely to see lots of insects and butterflies.

Please wear weather-suitable clothing and footwear; bring binoculars if you have them.

All under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

We’re a volunteer-run group and all our events are made possible by members who generously and enthusiastically give their time and expertise.

We believe access to nature should be free for everybody but if you want to support us with these events, you can donate here.

Thank you.
