Ealing Wildlife Group relies on its strong army of volunteers, who work tirelessly to help protect and conserve Ealing’s amazing wildlife. If you can offer your time to us, anything from a few hours here and there to a regular commitment, we would love to hear from you.
Volunteering with Ealing Wildlife Group offers an amazing experience. Our volunteers get a real sense of achievement from the work they do with EWG. They have the opportunity to work with other like minded individuals, to collaborate on and foster thriving and healthy wildlife habitats, enhancing the well-being of the people involved.
We are currently recruiting for one officer role:
- Costons Lane Nature Reserve Manager – managing our precious green space in urban Greenford. Read about the role and how to apply here.
Volunteer on our projects
We also have opportunities across all our projects, ranging from hands-on tasks like habitat maintenance and working on one of our conservation projects, to helping with social media or community outreach. There really is something for everyone at all skill levels from beginner. And we would love to support more involvement from underrepresented groups – we are happy to chat through and tailor opportunities to your needs as far as we can.
We eagerly anticipate welcoming you to our team!
Volunteer testimonials
“The people are the best part of volunteering at Costons Lane! Every time I meet new people with interesting backgrounds. I started at Costons Lane for my DofE and haven’t stopped supporting as it’s given me priceless experience for university. I’ve learnt a vast array of skills from ecology fieldwork to managing a nature reserve. I believe that others should get involved at Costons because it is a great time to learn from lots of people with interesting backgrounds.
Everyone can volunteer at Costons no matter their physical ability, age or background; we all have something invaluable to offer.”

I love volunteering at Costons Lane as not only is it local, it has a good friendly team who have always been made to feel welcome. I’ve seen things up close I have never seen before like Newts, Woodpeckers and Jays and it‘s a good way of actually doing something to help the wildlife and wildflowers that need our help. It’s ok to offer as much or as little time as possible and I’ve been encouraged to get involved in other Ealing Wildlife Group projects too.
I brought my Beaver Scouts on a visit which so far has been the highlight of their year!
My thanks to all the team at Costons nature reserve.”
