Are you passionate about wildlife and bringing communities together? Join Ealing Wildlife Group as our Costons Lane Nature Reserve Manager and help us manage a precious green space in urban Greenford, for the benefit of wildlife and the community. Working alongside our dedicated core team, you’ll help to deliver a schedule of events to engage the public and create and maintain habitats for wildlife.
What You’ll Do:
- Deliver monthly events on site at the nature reserve, designed to ensure that habitat is maintained and improved, whilst appealing to a cross-section of the community
- Develop and deliver an annual management plan for the site, ensuring that the quality of the site is maintained
- Set up and promote events online and locally
- Manage the equipment and other stock on site to ensure it is safely stored and maintained
- Make our activities welcoming and accessible to everyone from all walks of life
- Support our core values of Community, Conservation, and Collaboration
We’re Looking For Someone Who Has:
- Enthusiasm for wildlife and local conservation
- Some knowledge of local wildlife
- Good organisational and communication skills
- Ability to take initiative
- Basic digital skills (email, Google Drive, WhatsApp)
- Local knowledge of Ealing
- Comfort in talking to diverse groups of people
- Ability to commit 2-4 hours per week for 12+ months
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Experience working with volunteers
- Experience of habitat management
- Event planning skills

This volunteer role is perfect for someone who enjoys connecting with people and wants to make a real difference in their local community. No formal qualifications required – we value enthusiasm and potential just as much as experience, and our team will fully support you in getting up to speed.
Time Commitment:
- Monthly team meetings in Ealing Broadway (second Wednesday of each month)
- Approximately 10-12 hours per month
