Join us again for our annual winter trip to Otmoor to witness the incredible spectacle of a Starling murmuration. We are going early this winter to hopefully get good views before they change location, and thought it would be a nice outing after Christmas to get outdoors, get active and burn some of the Xmas excess calories.
Will be muddy and cold so dress appropriately, bring binoculars if you have them but we will have some and telescopes to share. A good introduction to birdwatching too, all welcome. Under 18s with a parent/guardian.
Car shares leaving Ealing by 11am are encouraged so please offer in the comments if you are willing to transport fellow EWGers, and arrange amongst yourselves. We will aim to meet in the car park at midday for a leisurely stroll around the reserve. Murmuration will happen about 3.30-4pm onwards, you can come for that time and you’ll find us at the viewing area which is about 30-40 mins walk from the car park.
OX3 9TD is the reserve postcode. You are aiming for the Abingdon Arms pub in Beckley OX3 9UU and taking a left after it down Otmoor Lane. Sometimes satnavs take you to the far side so use the pub postcode. We usually convene there for a warming beverage as it gets dark before heading home.

We’re a volunteer-run group and all our events are made possible by members who generously and enthusiastically give their time and expertise.
We believe access to nature should be free for everybody but if you want to support us with these events, you can donate here https://ealingwildlifegroup.com/donate/.
Thank you.
