Come and join us!
Now the photo exhibition is closed we’ll be taking down the Boards and putting the photos into storage, but once that’s done, we’ve got plenty of fun activities planned too. We’ll be making some hedgehog hibernacula in the woodland area so why not come down and learn how to do this as something you could try in your own garden or in a local wild space (with the landowner’s permission)?. We’ll also be using some old willow logs to create standing dead wood habitats, and drilling holes in them to attract cavity nesting solitary bees. If we have time after that we will be making reptile mats from old shed roofing material we have on site, that will make great habitats for our resident Slow Worms.
Finally, after teas and coffees, we will have an amphibian hunt as we have recently had reports of a toad on site – we should certainly be able to find Common Frogs and Smooth Newts now they have emerged from hibernation.
Everyone is welcome, whether you want to help out with the work or come down and enjoy the reserve at your leisure. We have a bird hide, several ponds and wetlands, a small wood, a wildlife garden, and a sunny deck to sit back and relax with a cup of tea.
You could spot foxes, woodpeckers, slow worms, newts, frogs, spiders, insects, dragonflies, butterflies, Red Kites, all manner of pondlife and bats at twilight.
The gated entrance with an EWG sign is on Ruislip Road East across from the Lidl Car Park, between 61 Clifton Road and 31 Costons Lane.
All under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
We’re a volunteer-run group and all our events are made possible by members who generously and enthusiastically give their time and expertise.
We believe access to nature should be free for everybody but if you want to support us with these events, you can donate here https://ealingwildlifegroup.com/donate/.
Thank you!
