Our gardens and allotments can be a vital resource for hedgehogs with surveys revealing that urban hedgehogs are faring better than their rural counterparts. Small, simple steps can make a big difference for local hedgehogs and a whole host of other species too.
Perhaps you saw Ealing’s hedgehogs featured in BBC Wild London in January 2026. Are you keen to make your garden more hedgehog-friendly, but not sure where to start?
Ealing Wildlife Group and Ealing Hedgehog Friends are joining forces to help turn Ealing’s gardens into safe refuges for hedgehogs, and our new team of Hedgehog Garden Coaches can help.
How does this free service work?
You will be visited by a pair of trained Hedgehog Garden Coaches on a day convenient to you, and your visit will include:
- a walk around your garden with you to identify opportunities, potential risks and provide general hedgehog advice
- a discussion to help you come up with some practical steps to take forward
- supporting resources
How can you sign up?
To sign up for this service, please send us an email at hedgehogsewg@gmail.com with the subject line: Request for a Garden Coaches Visit
You will receive a short form to complete with contact details and availability.
We’ll then shortly be in touch to schedule your visit π
πΏWeβre a volunteer-run group and all our events are made possible by members who generously and enthusiastically give their time and expertise.
We believe access to nature should be free for everybody but if you want to support us with these events, you can donate here https://ealingwildlifegroup.com/donate/
Thank you πΏ
