We’re looking for volunteers to lend a hand (or two!) as we search for Harvest Mouse nests. These adorable rodents were released into Perivale Wood, and now we’re checking in to see how they’re settling into their new home.
This is a fun, family-friendly activity (kids aged 8+ welcome) that involves some patience and a bit of adventure as we carefully comb through long grass looking for signs of nests. Finding one is a magical reward—they’re tiny, intricate, and just as cute as the mice themselves. And guess what? You’ll officially be a Citizen Scientist!
What to Bring:
Weather-ready clothes (layers are your friend!)
Sturdy shoes (we’ll be off the beaten path).
Stay as long as you like—it’s flexible, but arriving on time means you won’t miss our nest-finding tips at the start.
All under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
